Amazon has begun testing a new conversational AI assistant, known as Alexa+, within the Indian market. The pilot program specifically includes a version of the technology designed to support the Hindi language.
According to reports from TechCrunch, Amazon invited local customers via email to participate in this trial phase. This initial rollout is intended to refine the AI's capabilities and performance before it is released more broadly across the region.
The Indian Express also reported on the initiative, noting its role as an expansion of the existing Alexa ecosystem. By incorporating Hindi support, the company aims to increase accessibility for a larger portion of India’s population. The current testing period serves as a precursor to a planned wider rollout, allowing the company to gather feedback and data on user interaction with the new AI-powered features in a local context.
