Meta launched its own brand of smart glasses today in several countries, offering a variety of color and lens combinations starting at $299. According to reports from Wired and TechCrunch, the new model features integrated cameras, microphones, and built-in chatbot functionality similar to those found in previous collaborations with Ray-Ban.

Product features and designs

The collection includes 26 different styles and eight color options, according to The Sun. These models include the rectangular Meta Adventurer and the squared Meta Fury frames. CNET reports that while these glasses are display-free, they utilize the same camera design and privacy policies as previous iterations.

One specific model was co-designed in partnership with Kylie Jenner. This edition, which features slim oval frames, includes an AI assistant that speaks in her voice, according to The Sun.

Strategic outlook

The launch is part of a broader strategy regarding wearable technology. CNBC reports that company executives view these lightweight glasses as a step toward more advanced hardware that will eventually include screens integrated into the lenses.

Public interest in the announcement has appeared on social media platforms, where some users noted the move as an effort to establish Meta's own brand identity in the smart eyewear market ahead of upcoming competition from other major technology firms.
