Samsung has announced the Galaxy A27, a budget smartphone scheduled to launch in July. According to 9to5Google, the device will retail for $349 and include up to six years of Android OS updates.
The Verge reports that this pricing is $50 higher than last year's Galaxy A26 model. Despite the increase in cost, several hardware specifications have been reduced compared to the previous version.
Specifically, the Galaxy A27 features a 12-megapixel selfie camera and a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Verge notes that these are lower resolution cameras than those used in last year's model. Additionally, the device includes an IP64 rating which The Verge describes as a downgrade from the previous version.
